Hurricane Beryl Updates

Hurricane Beryl Update – Tuesday, July 9 at 12:30 p.m. CST

A Message from the Executive Director
July 9, 2024

Dear Residents, Family Members and Community Members,

I want to provide a quick update on the status of our community and residents. Thankfully, the impact of the storm for the Village of Gleannloch Farm’s campus was minimal and we have already begun the cleanup process. The campus suffered minor landscaping debris and minor leaks. All damage is in process of remedy. Overall, a wonderful outcome.

The community is still without power; however, we have temporary generators on the campus providing limited power to different areas of the campus. We have a central location, IL multi-purpose room, with AC and charging stations. An IL elevator is operational as well as lighting/AC in the bistro.

All family members of assisted living, memory care, and health care residents have been contacted with updates.

Our team is doing an exceptional job!

Thank you for your support.

A Message from the Executive Director
July 8, 2024

Dear Residents, Family Members and Community Members,

We are grateful to inform you that we have had minimal impact thus far from Hurricane Beryl. Although we did lose power, the Health Center is receiving limited power via a generator, our cell phones are working, and we are all safe.

I want to thank all our associates who are working so hard during this time- they are all dedicated to our residents, and we are lucky to have them.

Thank you for your support and we will continue to post another update once Beryl makes its way out of the Houston area.

Hurricane Beryl Update – Sunday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. CST

A Message from the Executive Director
July 7, 2024

Dear Residents, Family Members and Community Members,

The health and safety of our residents and employees are always our first priority. As the Houston area prepares for the possibility of hurricane landfall, the team members at The Village of Gleannloch Farms are making necessary preparations for their safety.

The Village at Gleannloch Farms is a shelter in place community and we historically have never flooded. As a shelter in place community we have our team members prepared to shelter in place with the residents at the community.

The following is a list of items in preparation:

• Removed and/or tied down all loose items or structures
• Provided reinforcement of main entry windows and entrances
• Stocked with sufficient levels of food, linens, water, fuel, hurricane supplies, and medications as needed
• Secured a generator and backup generator for the Health Center and the main kitchen
• Vehicles fueled to maximum capacity
• Additional ice and water on hand

We will be communicating via our “one-call system” and email updates. Please call the front desk at 281-569-2999 if you wish to be enrolled to receive these automated updates.

All Directors and scheduled staff for Monday will be on site Sunday night to assist with these efforts and provide support as needed.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates, as necessary.
